Keep the “yeah” and kick the “but.”

“Yeah, but _______________ (fill in the blank).”

You probably never catch yourself saying it. It’s more of a natural excuse you have been saying since well…forever.

What is the reason behind it? Behind all the insecurities, all the negative answers and NOs?

For me it’s either…too tired, too afraid or insecure what other’s close to me would think. Soo I decided to adopt this new motto because I don’t want to let tiredness, fear and insecurity run my life.

When I find myself saying “yeah, but…” I need to stop and think is this actually physically impossible to achieve? Most likely, NOT! So then I need to do exactly what my “yeah, but” says not to do!

Doing this will allow me to live more freely, be more open-minded and adventurous!

Sambosa Korean Temple.

One must liberate the “I” from the “accumulated ego” and then one cannot help but to love all beings in the entire universe as one body. Ultimately, one should live a life that is based on a liberated mind (free mind) and actions based on love and compassion.

Ever since I sat in Skycreek Dharm Center for the first time, I felt a sense of fullness. I use to go every Thursday for the “20-something-year-olds meditation group.” This was during my senior year at Chico State. I sensed my mind and body becoming more grounded, calm, happy and less stressed. It was an amazing experience that opened my eyes to the world a little more.

Then I graduated, and moved back home. I missed that feeling of guided meditation and being together. I had searched for a similiar place, a place to retreat and restore my mind. I couldn’t find anything for the longest time. Then one day I came across an ad on craigslist…the last place I’d expect to see anything. It was a meditation center! And not just that, it was a beautiful historic Korean Temple!

During my first visit, I was in awe. I was surrounded by Carmel Valley’s natural landscape…sounds of water flowing, frogs croaking. Inside I found skilled attention to detail in the main meditation hall. It was a sight of pure belief. My friends and I were welcomed with open arms and offered good company and delicious green tea after our meditation.

Now that I am only 10 minutes away from Carmel, I am making a commitment to meditate every week at Sambosa Korean Temple.

Moroccan Morning.

I actually opened my eyes nine minutes before my alarm went off. It took me 2 minutes to roll out of bed, and 10 seconds to actually stand and walk away from comfort.

I know it pays to get 8 hours of sleep, esp. when I have to be at work at 6am.

I invested in a memory foam mattress topper about a week ago, and ever since then I feel like I sleep on a cloud. It’s heavenly!

The new apartment is slowly coming together (moved in on July 1st). I want to decorate my room with a Moroccan design!

Lush fabrics, hanging lanterns, bright colors, floor pillows, carved wood…I have a vision in my mind.

I just need to find the right items! It takes patience to pull the room together. I need to find the right pieces…things I will enjoy for a long time.

A before and after picture of my room is sure to come!

The Tiger Lover.

Tigers are incredibly sexy people, beautiful to most people and sensually romantic. They are spontaneous lovers who never lose their creative spark or flare for an evening of passion. They offer their partner a hint of danger and exhibit a curiosity for the unknown.

Tigers love excitement and need someone who can keep up with all they want to do and see. The tiger’s partner must also be able to stand the mood swings, the ups and downs, the good with the bad. Chinese horoscopes are very specific about which partnerships have the potential to be successful in love and in business. Yet, though destiny can point us in the right direction, we must still make all efforts to maintain loving relationships.
